This piece , carved from Pentelic marble, represents a piece of cloth as it falls. Its narrow and elongated shape creates a sense of movement and fluidity. The detailed craftsmanship imparts an incredible transparency to the sculpture, which becomes especially evident when light passes through it from behind.
The theme is directly connected to the sea and sailing ships, symbolizing return and welcome, as a ship reaches the harbor and its sails come down.
