The sculpture “Balances” depicts a stack of stones, one on top of the other, similar to those we used to play with as children on the beach. However, in this case, it is a single piece of marble that has been sculpted, rather than separate stones being joined together.
The work serves as a reminder that we are all interconnected. If we want society to reach the ideals each of us envisions, we need to support one another. A fundamental condition for this to work is the existence of balance in our relationships.
